54-strong Bulgarian economic delegation to visit Iran in mid-March

EHRAN- A 54-strong Bulgarian economic delegation, headed by the country’s Energy Minister Temenuzhka Petkova, would travel to Iran in the second half of the current Iranian month of Esfand (March 5 – March 20), according to Christo Polendakov, the Bulgarian ambassador to Tehran.
IFIF Public Relations- Polendakov made the remarks in his meeting with Abolfazl Rahnama, the director general of European and American Affairs Department at Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (ICCIMA), the official website of the ICCIMA reported on Saturday.
The Bulgarian trade delegation would comprise representatives of 54 major companies active in the fields of electricity, transportation, agriculture, water management and railroads development, according to Polendakov.
The companies, he said, are keen to find business partners and investment opportunities in Iran.
Polendakov added that establishing economic ties with Iran’s private sector is the main objective of the Bulgarian trade delegation.
In December 2015, Bulgarian Foreign Minister Daniel Mitov said Iran can potentially be a gateway for Bulgarian goods to find their way into more markets.
He referred to energy cooperation and the development of transport corridors as a starting point for bilateral economic collaboration.
Foreign business delegations have flocked to Tehran since the United States, European Union and United Nations lifted international sanctions last month after reaching a deal over Iran’s nuclear program./s
