September 14, IFIF public relation- Referring to the concurrent holding of the three international exhibitions of food industry, Secretary General of the Federation of Iranian Food Associations and the Chairman of Agriculture in Chamber of Commerce, Kaveh Zargaran said  “Holding  beverages, dairy and confectionary exhibitions at the same time by food industry NGOs demonstrates the capabilities of these organizations in the pursuit of objectives of food producers in holding  international exhibitions at the highest level.”

On Tueseday, September 13th three international food exhibitions,  including the Seventh International Exhibition of  "Beverages, tea, coffee and related industries", the First exhibition of "Dairy and Related industries" and the Fifteenth International Exhibition  of "machinery and raw materials of  biscuits, sweets and chocolates " kicked off at Tehran International exhibition in the presence of  Chairman of  Tehran Chamber of Commerce Masoud Khansari, Deputy Minister of Industry and Director of International exhibitions Company Hossein Esfahbodi, Secretary General of the Federation of Iranian Food Associations and Kaveh Zargaran ,  Secretary of Dairy Association Reza Bakeri, Deputy Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Mohsen Salehnia, and other officials and private sectors activists.

On the sidelines of the three international food industry exhibitions, Kaveh Zargaran pointed out that the holding simultaneously three large international exhibitions in the food industry was unprecedented. He also added “holding three different exhibitions successfully in an area of 45 thousand square meters and with the participation of 610 local and foreign companies from 30 countries shows that if the exhibition affairs are entrusted to the related organizations, they can hold it with the highest international quality due to their proficiency in the related industry with  higher standards compared to those were held by other non-related organizations, because boosting productivity and increasing exports are food associations` priority goals that ultimately will help the growth of production and industry in the country”, he added.

 

Regarding to the importance of the Beverage, tea, coffee and related industries exhibition Zargaran said “ The exhibition is held in an area of 5200 square meters with the 150 percent increasing in the participation of foreign companies compared to last year . 90 local companies and 12 foreign companies from the United Arabic Emirates, Colombia, Turkey, Denmark, South Korea, Sri Lanka and Italy are taking part in this event.

He also underlined  the crucial role of beverage industry and said” we have 100 major manufacturing units of  mineral water and 8 industrial units of non-alcoholic  malt beverages and there are 200 manufacturing  units of fruit juices and concentrates with a production capacity of  290 thousand tons of concentrate. The production capacity of beverages in Iran is 5 billion liters per year, which is a significant figure.

Specifying the role of dairy and confectionary industries in the food exports, he said” I should emphasize that these two industries provide foreign investments. In this regard confectionary industry stands in the second place, followed by dairy products. According to the census of Ministry of Industry, 1100 units manufacturing units are active in the production of sweets, chocolate, toffee and biscuits in which 95% of them belongs to the private sectors with the nominal capacity of 2.5 million tons per year.

Regarding to the first Dairy Exhibition and the participation of 32 foreign companies he said” dairy sector`s exports is very significant and last year it exported $ 640 million. This figure is about $ 600 million for the confectionery industry.”

The confectionary fair is held in an area about 37000 square meters with the participation of 361 local companies and  85 foreign companies from 22 foreign countries including Austria, Germany, Spain, England, America, United Arabic Emirates, Ukraine, Italy, Belgium, Turkey, China, France, Switzerland, Sweden, Denmark, Poland, Lebanon, Malaysia, Canada, Colombia, South Korea and India.

These three exhibitions will run until Friday, September 16th.
