Philippines to import Iranian Apples

January 16, IFIF public relation- Iran is keen on exporting its products to Philippine market.
In a meeting between Iranian Ambassador to the Philippines Mohammad Tanhaei and Filipino Agriculture Secretary Emmanuel F. Pinol, Pinol said that as part of the standard procedure, the Philippine Department of Agriculture is finalizing the Pest Risk Analysis of apple samples.
The Philippine officials also expressed their interest to export tropical fruits especially banana and pine apple to Iran.
The Iranian official expressed Iran`s interest in exporting cherry, pomegranate and pistachios to the Philippines.
“Tehran is willing to cooperate with Philippine in research and development for rice, biotechnology and modern farming,” he added.
Pinol voiced their department readiness to assist Iranian companies interested in business ventures on banana.
He will visit Iran in May and is to explore agriculture ventures with the country and hold agro-fishery trade shows.
