Iran, Russia to build power plants in Iran

January 18, IFIF public relation- Iran and Russia are to sign a contract to build several billion dollars plants in Iran, Deputy Minister of Energy for Planning and Economic Affairs Alireza Daemi said.
“According to the agreement inked between the two countries, the Russian companies will boost about 19% efficiency at the Ramin power plant in Khuzestan province,” he added.
Also a 1,400-megawatt power plant in the Iranian city of Bandar Abbas in Hormuzgan province will be built by Russian companies, Daemi said.
Nine memorandum of understandings (MoUs) in various economic fields were signed between Tehran and Moscow.
The cooperation agreements were signed between Iranian Communications and Information Technology Minister Mahmoud Vaezi and Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak within the framework of Joint Iran-Russia Economic Cooperation Commission in Tehran and covered vast areas from insurance to energy, from industry to commerce.
