February 2, IFIF quoted from Financialtribune- Iran exported around €523 million worth of goods to Italy over the seven months to July 30, 2016, registering a 95% hike compared with the corresponding period of the year before. IRNA also cited the Italian National Institute of Statistics as reporting that Iran’s main exported commodities over the period were oil derivatives, gas condensates, steel and petrochemical products, stone and construction materials, pistachio, leather, animal hide and flooring materials. Bilateral trade was about €7 billion in 2010, making Italy the largest trading partner of Iran among European nations. But the enforcement of international sanctions on Iran over its nuclear energy program reduced two-way trade to €1.6 billion in 2014.
