Iran, Finland Opt for Boosting Mutual Cooperation
During the meeting in the Finnish capital on Friday, the Iranian and Finnish deputy foreign ministers explored avenues for bolstering and reinvigorating mutual cooperation in different fields.
Takht Ravanchi is currently on a visit to Finland at the invitation of his Finnish counterpart.
Takht Ravanchi underlined the need for regular consultations over bilateral, regional and international issues, and said that a recent visit by Finnish president to Iran was successful and brought positive results.
"Iran attaches great significance to parliamentary interaction and people-to-people relations which help facilitate and accelerate cooperation, particularly in the economic and trade fields," the Iranian diplomat said.
The Finnish deputy foreign minister, for his part, expressed satisfaction over his country's president visit to Tehran last year during which several cooperation pacts were signed and ways for all-out collaboration, especially economic cooperation were explored.
"Iran and Finland have developed stronger relations over past years," Stenlund said.
In a relevant development in late October, Tehran and Helsinki signed four cooperation agreements on energy, communications, technology, environment and investment.
A signing ceremony for inking the bilateral agreements was held in Tehran at Sa'dabad Complex. Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and his visiting Finnish counterpart Sauli Niinistö attended the event.
Memorandum of Understanding on energy sector is one of the documents signed by Iranian Energy Minister Hamid Chitchian and Finnish Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Kai Mykkänen.
In the field of Communications and Technology, Iranian Minister of Communications and Information Technology Mahmoud Vaezi and his Finnish counterpart Kai Mykkänen signed a cooperation agreement to further the cooperation.
The third agreement on natural resource management was signed between Iran's Head of Forests and Rangelands Organization Khodakaram Jalali and Finland's Kai Mykkänen.
Iran's Deputy Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance Mohammad Khazaei and Finland's Executive Vice President Jussi Haarasilta inked fourth MoU on cooperation of Iran's Organization for Investment and Technical Assistance and Finland's Export Credit Agency Finnvera.
