'Mehdi Sadeqi Niyraki' made the remarks in the 5th food industry festival in the Iranian Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture on Tuesday evening.

He went on to say that 95 percent of the food industry is run by the private sector, but because of its importance, various devices are involved in this industry. 

Sadeqi Niyarki said that 17 government agencies and organizations intervene directly in the food industry, noting that all agencies related to this sector should work together and move in the right direction so that the industry could succeed. 

He pointed to drafting Strategic Document for the Food and Drink Industry sector in the Strategic Plan of the Ministry of Industry and said that the program emphasized that, by 1404, exports of this sector would increase from $ 3 billion to $ 6.5 billion. 

The official made the remark that 15 percent of the country's industrial employment is related to the food industry, adding that over a billion people in the world are involved in the agricultural and food industries.
